Enjoying a Smooth-ie Summer

Products & Recipes

Summer is in full swing and there is no better way to enjoy the sunshine and warm days than with a smoothie loaded with all the good stuff! Whether I am spending a hot sunny day out in the hammock or coming home off the water with a hankering for something cool, I always crave a smoothie!

With high temperatures and tough training sessions, recovering fast and efficiently is of the utmost importance. When summer is at its peak, the scorching heat can make a full meal seem dreadfully unappetizing. After sweating for two hours, hot steak and creamy mashed potatoes are not high on my list of desires. Nonetheless, your body needs the protein and calories! That’s why it’s important to make sure you are always getting as many nutrients in as you can! After those tough training sessions, I will always opt to blend up a smoothie! My smoothie essentials include: my Vitamix, Burnbrae’s Naturegg Simply Egg Whites and whatever fresh fruits and veggies I have on hand. You can never really go wrong with a delicious, cooling smoothie, right?!

Naturegg Simply Egg Whites are pasteurized and a simple, high protein addition to any and all flavours of smoothie - berry mix? chocolate banana? coffee and cream? greens? Yes please! Naturegg Simply Egg Whites also make it easy to measure out exactly how much egg whites I need (without wasting the yolks!) - they are my go-to for any smoothie I make!

It wasn’t until my nutritionist advised that I should add egg whites to my smoothies before I thought of it as something that could contribute to the nutritional value of my smoothies (without changing the taste!). Once I started, it quickly became a staple to all my shakes and smoothies! Egg whites easily provide extra protein and make any smoothie fluffy! Yay!

If you’re looking for a new smoothie recipe to try, this is one of my favourite go-to smoothie recipes, enjoy!
