Update from Our Sponsored Athletes
NoneOver the past few months our athletes have been busy training, competing, and getting ready for upcoming competitions. Burnbrae Farms is proud to support these Canadian athletes. We've got some egg-citing updates to share.
Tim Nedow - Shot Put
After Tim's silver medal at the Pan Am Games last summer he has been training hard for this year's competitions. He's currenty training at York University where he has access to a nutritionist, strength coach, physiotherapist, massage therapist and chiropractor. Tim throws three times a week in practice and is focusing on his strength training. His weight lifting workouts are squats, bench press, military press, cleans and deadlifts. He and his coach are also working on his throwing technique. On Saturday January 30th Tim competed in the York Open at the Toronto Track and Field Centre. At the competition Tim threw a new personal best of 21.0m. This acheivement has him ranking 2nd in the world this year for indoor throws, a great place to be in as he heads to Europe this week. We are looking forward to following Tim at his next international competitions: Karlsruhe, Germany on February 6th, Stockholm, Sweden on February 17th and the IAAF World Indoor Championships March 17-20. Follow Tim's Instagram account @timmaythrows to check out his training pictures and videos.
William Preudhomme - Speed Skating
Congratulations are in order for William who has been named to the Canadian team for both of the Winter World Cup events. William recently competed at the Canadian Senior Championships held January 15-17 in Montreal. He had a fall in the quarterfinals of the event and was unsure if he would be able to compete the next day. After receiving medical clearance he went on to win bronze in both the 1000m and 3000m distances. His impressive results at the Canadian Championships were the key in getting named to the Canadian Team and moving on to next month's international events. Follow William on Twitter as he competes at ISU World Cup Short Track #5 in Dresden, Germany February 5-7th and #6 in Dordrecht, Netherlands February 12-14th.
Team Kleibrink - Curling
In December the ladies of Team Kleibrink played a fantastic tournament at the Alberta Southern Playdowns in Olds. We celebrated the team (Skip: Shannon Kleibrink, Third: Lisa Eyamie, Second: Sarah Wilkes, and Lead: Alison Kotylak) for their A Title which qualified them for Provincials. We followed along on Facebook as the team won their first game at Provinvials on January 20th.. They fought hard that weekend but unfortunately the final standings were not enough for them to continue to the next tournament. The season has come to an end for Team Kleibrink and we'd like to thank the team for taking us along for the journey.
We are so happy to fuel these outstanding Canadian athletes. The Burnbrae Farms team would like to congratulate all of them on their acheivements over the last few months. Follow along on Twitter and our Eggs for Life Blog as we continue to share updates, stores, and recipes from our sponsored athlete team.
